WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Tom Udall today announced that airports in Aztec, Clovis, Las Cruces and Silver City will receive approximately $1.5 million for runway rehabilitation and wildlife hazard assessments.
"This grant will help ensure the safety of travelers to and from our cities by investing in important safety improvements," said Udall, a member of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. "This funding will also help ensure that local airports have well-developed plans in place to deal with potential wildlife hazards, a constant threat we face in our climate."
The funding is distributed through the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration.
