Udall Announces More Than $250,000 in Arts Grants for N.M.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Tom Udall announced today that New Mexico will receive a series of grants totaling $257,500 from the National Endowment for the Arts for various projects including concerts, music festivals, museums and cultural events around the state.

These matching grants help support projects that involve the creation and presentation of artistically excellent work - both new and established.

"The arts have flourished in New Mexico for hundreds of years and they continue to be a very important part of our culture and traditions. These grants will provide creative outlets and lend essential support for community arts projects that will add to the quality of life for many New Mexicans," Udall said.

Udall is a member of the Senate Cultural Caucus, which works to support the Arts and the Humanities in Congress.
