WASHINGTON
- U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) today announced that 24 counties in New Mexico will receive a total of $544,745 for emergency food and shelter programs that help support hungry and homeless New Mexicans.
The funding comes through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The following counties will receive funding: Chaves, Cibola, Colfax, Curry, Doña Ana, Grant, Lea, Lincoln, Luna, McKinley, Mora, Otero, Quay, Rio Arriba, Roosevelt, Sandoval, San Juan, San Miguel, Sierra Socorro, Taos, Torrance and Valencia. "This funding will support programs across our state that provide food, shelter and support to people who need it most," Udall said.
