WASHINGTON— Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.) thanked Portland, Oregon native Alex Haddon for his work as an intern in his Washington, D.C., office this summer. During his tenure working virtually with Udall’s D.C. office, Haddon worked closely with the legislative team.
“U.S. Senate interns gain invaluable experience as they learn to navigate our nation’s legislative process. I applaud all of our interns who weathered the unique challenges of a virtual internship due to the global pandemic,” said Udall. “It’s been a pleasure to work with Alex this summer, and I hope he finds his experiences during this internship rewarding as he finishes high school and takes the next steps in his education.”
“I am extremely grateful to Senator Udall and his staff for continuing the intern program even through these unprecedented times,” Haddon said. “I gained valuable insights into the day to day operations of the senate office and learned a lot about how to do bill research and other daily work skills. Each staffer was extremely kind and helpful and I was appreciative that the staffers we met with shared their experience and career paths. Thank you so much!”
Alex is the son of Chris and Julie Haddon and is a rising high school senior at Lincoln High School. Outside the classroom, he is involved in tennis, jazz band and ultimate frisbee. He also teaches civics and is a member of the constitution team.
