WASHINGTON— Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.) thanked Santa Fe native Julian Rosales for his work as an intern in his Washington, D.C., office this summer. During his tenure working virtually with Udall’s D.C. office, Rosales worked closely with the legislative team.
“U.S. Senate interns gain invaluable experience as they learn to navigate our nation’s legislative process. I applaud all of our interns who, despite having an unconventional, ‘virtual’ internship due to the global pandemic, found many ways to contribute to my offices,” said Udall. “It’s been a pleasure to work with Julian this summer, and I hope he finds his experiences during this internship rewarding as he finishes college at Tulane University studying political science.”
“I appreciate having the opportunity to be able to intern for Senator Udall this summer. Throughout this internship I have learned how intricate and complicated the legislative process really is by attending several committee hearings, listening in on informative COVID-19 talks, researching bills, and writing up various types of memos,” Rosales said. “Being able to benefit New Mexican constituents through our work really also makes the job. Even though the internship program was virtual, it exceeded my expectations by still being organized and it still felt like I was actually a part of the office. Thank you all for making the program such a good experience!”
Julian is the son of Anne Foster and Elmer Rosales. He is a rising senior at Tulane University where he is studying Political Science. Outside the classroom, he is involved in Krav Maga, skiing, and basketball.
