Udall Welcomes Sportsmen Groups’ Engagement in 30x30 Conservation Effort

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.), lead Senate sponsor of the 30x30 Resolution to Save Nature , issued the following statement thanking a coalition of hunting and fishing groups for their constructive engagement in the 30x30 effort:

“Sportsmen and women across this county have always been a critical part of America’s conservation successes. I am encouraged to see the nation’s leading hunting and fishing groups announce their support for a collaborative, stakeholder-driven and science-based effort to conserve 30 percent of our lands and waters by 2030. We all need what nature provides: clean air and water, food, recreation and more. The men and women who responsibly hunt and fish in our great outdoors know this first hand and support conservation through their financial, personal and advocacy contributions. Together, we can address the nature crisis and conserve 30 percent of our lands and waters by 2030, and sportsmen and women must have a seat at the table as we work toward that goal.”
