"What a remarkable New Mexico hero," remarked Udall of Petry. "He turned his life around, dedicated himself in service to his country, and didn't hesitate to risk his own life to save his fellow Army Rangers. I'm honored to have met Sgt. Petry and thrilled to share his compelling story with all of New Mexico."

In the extensive interview, Petry describes his life growing up in New Mexico and his experience in the military. He details the the brave action that earned him the Medal of Honor and talks about his recent work helping wounded warriors with their recovery.

"I loved every deployment," Petry says in the interview. "It was great to go and be a part of the team and see the improvements and the positive things that our military is doing."

Also in this episode, Udall provides an overview of resources that are available to veterans across New Mexico.

For the "Sensible Solutions" segment, which examines a signature issue or piece of legislation, Udall profiles a bill he introduced this summer to improve access to care for veterans in southern New Mexico suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
