A Movement to Reform Campaign Finance

The election year is underway and the unprecedented, corrosive effect of money on our politics is already clear.

No doubt, an election should be about voicing opinions and having a lively debate. But a string of bad Supreme Court decisions -- the most recent, Citizens United -- have equated money with speech and amplified the power of corporations and special interests. When that happens, your voice in the debate gets drowned out.

There's a nationwide movement to reverse this trend by amending the U.S. Constitution.  I participated in a panel of national, state and local leaders who agree that a constitutional amendment is the only way we can reform our campaign finance system.
