NMSU Student from Rio Rancho Earns Washington D.C. Internship

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tom Udall welcomed Rio Rancho native and New Mexico State University senior, Miguel Lozano for a summer internship in his Washington, D.C., office.

Lozano has long been a valued member of the Udall Team, serving as an intern Udall’s Las Cruces office during the school year. He is committed to focusing on border security and veterans’ issues while working in D.C.

"Miguel has been a great asset to both my Las Cruces and my Washington office," said Udall. "He comes to Washington with unique experience and a love for the state of New Mexico. I know he has learned a lot about public service from his experiences both on Capitol Hill and in the state."

Lozano is a senior at New Mexico State University, majoring in government. After college, he plans on attending law school or joining the military.

Said Lozano, "I want to take in everything Washington has to offer. I think gaining legislative experience will add to my knowledge from the state office."

Lozano graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2006 and was the student body president his senior year.  He is the son of Frank and Toni Lozano.
