Udall Serving YoU Helped 67 Communities in August

WASHINGTON – Over the August work period staff from U.S. Senator Tom Udall's Washington D.C. and various state offices were available in 67 towns across New Mexico. Staff members hosted Udall Serving YoU office hours in communities from Sunland Park and Carlsbad to Farmington and Mosquero to help constituents with federal government issues such as passports, Social Security, immigration, housing and veteran's benefits.

"During the month of August, my staff was available to many constituents. Not just to listen to their concerns, but to help facilitate a working relationship with federal agencies. My staff was in an impressive 67 towns throughout New Mexico that would normally not have direct access to this kind of federal help - giving New Mexicans a place to go, a place to be heard and a place to get the answers they needed. They helped constituents apply for Social Security or veteran's benefits, answered questions on passports and immigration and served as a resource regarding any other issues concerning my constituents. I am proud of the work we were able to accomplish in just four short weeks," Udall said.

Additionally Udall made an eight county swing across the state to add to his total of 19 Town Halls with Tom and Udall Serving YoU open office hours in his first eight months in the Senate.
