WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Tom Udall today announced that airports throughout New Mexico will receive a total of $925,232 in grants to fund safety improvements and airport master plan studies for future needs.
"I am glad to see this funding coming to New Mexico," said Udall, a member of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. "These grants will help ensure that local airports have well-researched plans in place and the tools they need to anticipate and respond to future challenges - improving safety and efficiency for air travelers across New Mexico."
The funding is distributed through the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration.

Ohkay Owingeh Airport: $93,197
Update portion of master plan, design of runway safety area improvements
Gallup Municipal Airport: $214,535
Design of drainage improvements
Santa Rosa Route 66 Airport: $437,500
Conduct airport master plan study update, install perimeter fencing and precision approach path indicators for two runways
State of New Mexico: $180,000
System planning for general aviation airports throughout New Mexico to determine best application of future funding
