WASHINGTON
- U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) issued the following statement today on the Senate's passage of H.R. 4, a measure to repeal the 1099 reporting responsibility for small business under the new health care law:
"Small businesses are the backbone of our economy in New Mexico and around the nation. Revising the new health reform law to eliminate the 1099 reporting requirement will eliminate this burden for owners, helping them spend more time on their business, and not on paperwork. I look forward to continuing to work in a bipartisan manner to strengthen health reform and put many of its benefits in place to help small businesses and New Mexicans."
