WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall thanked Grants native Sean Erice for his work as an intern in his Washington, D.C., office this summer. During his ten weeks on Capitol Hill, Erice worked primarily on issues related to health and education.
“U.S. Senate interns experience first-hand the inner workings of the lawmaking process,” said Udall. “It has been a pleasure to have Sean in my office this summer, and I wish him the best as he builds on his experiences from this internship in his future endeavors.”
Erice said he applied for an internship in Udall’s office because he wanted to help serve New Mexicans. He said that his time in the Capitol showed him how fast-paced and rewarding legislative work can be.
“I have learned so much working on Capitol Hill about the major impact a single bill or piece of legislation can have on New Mexico,” Erice said. “It feels like, every day, there is something new to address.”
Erice is the son of Lori Rael and Wayne Erice. A member of the Laguna Pueblo Tribe, he graduated from Grants High School. Erice is currently a senior at Adams State University, where he studies political science and serves as president of student government and the school’s Model United Nations team.
